Types of Yoga
Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline, originating in India. The goal of yoga, or of the person practicing yoga, is the attainment of a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquility.
Within Hindu philosophy, the word yoga is used to refer to one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophy. There are different types of yoga such as Jnana Yoga (“yoga based on knowledge”), Karma Yoga (“yoga based on action”). Other systems are Bhakti Yoga, and Hatha Yoga.
Yoga is a practice with roots that extend back thousands of years offers many documented health benefits, including:
